2020 might have confirmed itself as the year of skincare, so what can we expect for 2021? We wanted to have a look at some of the most interesting trends for the coming year.
As with every other industry, the experts have been predicting what is in and what is out for beauty, with some fascinating thoughts and opinions, so let’s have a look at a few of the trends that will have you feeling luminous and glowing in 2021.
Online dermatology will boom
Statistics show that there are 650 dermatologists in the UK, and the majority have not been able to see their patients during the pandemic. With over 2,000 skin disorders, including the dreaded maskne, online dermatology could become a necessity in 2021.
The upper third is the ultimate zone of interest
The mandate for mask wearing, hiding much of our face has led to predictions that we will be scrutinising the upper third of our faces more, with treatments that will focus on the area from the cheeks up, drawing action to our eyes and temple fillers.
Less will be more
We will be cutting back on our skincare routines for many reasons. Not only do people have less expendable money for expensive products, but there is a growing awareness of the impact of the beauty industry on the environment and climate change. Multipurpose products may reign, taking place of the multitude of products and multi-step regimes.
