Marilyn Monroe – one of the most beautiful women in the world ever! Who wouldn’t want to know what her skincare and beauty secrets were?
Well, you’re all in luck because they’ve just been revealed in the Makeup Museums’ Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America exhibition, written by celebrity medi-skincare brand Erno Laszlo.
An Instagram video gave viewers a peek into the life of the Hollywood starlet in 1959, including recommendations on what to eat, what to wear and a breakdown of the different products she used.
As we do now, Marilyn was advised to wash her face and neck in warm water, before applying normaliser, avoiding the eyes. She then had to apply phelitone under her eyes in tiny dots before spreading it gently over the skin and blotting off with tissue.
Fun fact! You can still find Erno Laszlo Phelitone Eye Treatment as a product these days – how’s that for staying power for a product? Apparently, it protects and moisturises, while strengthening delicate skin, reducing overnight puffiness and brightening skin tone.
It’s certainly interesting to see how skincare was done over the years and to see how the different products and ingredients have evolved over time.
We are very spoiled these days that we are able to go for anti wrinkle treatments and other such procedures to help keep our skin in lovely, healthy condition – although, of course, with lockdown restrictions still ongoing, we’re sure you’re all missing your local clinics a lot.
Don’t forget to give us a call and book an appointment as soon as lockdown is over and life returns to relative normal. We can’t wait to see you all again!
