There’s something wonderful about feeling the warming rays of the sun on your face, although as we all know this isn’t ideal for our skin. What should you be doing to look after your skin as we move into the warmer, and hopefully sunnier, months of the year?
Fashion.ie recently shared some advice from dermatologists to help you prepare for the hotter weather that’s on the way. Of course, one of the top tips is to make sure that you always apply sunscreen to your face and any other exposed skin, even on an overcast day.
You should also look at your skincare routine, as another piece of advice is to switch to a lightweight moisturiser during the warmer weather. That’s because heavier, more oily moisturisers can clog your pores and this means that when you sweat in the heat, you’re more likely to experience breakouts.
If you notice that you tend to get oily skin during the summer, then using a toner in your daily skincare routine is another step to take.
Another simple, but highly effective way, of making sure that your skin stays in good condition is to stay well hydrated. The news provider also recommended avoiding caffeine as far as possible, but if you need your coffee or tea hits throughout the day, you should make sure you drink extra water to compensate.
The Northwich Guardian also shared some advice recently about how to get summer ready. It noted that if you’re prone to dry skin then using a body scrub once or twice a week can be effective. Just make sure you follow this up with a body oil or moisturiser once you’re out of the shower and have dried off.
